Well it is official...after tonight's proceedings, football as we know it is dead and many thanks to Adrian Anderson and Andrew Demetriou for destroying the greatest and toughest game in the world and turning it into a game for girls and fairies. Accordingly I have just heard that next year all players will wear skirts and the 3 foot contact rule will be applied...welcome to the new AFL...All Female League!

Players and supporters of the NRL and ARU must be sitting back and wetting themselves in hysterical laughter at what our great game has been reduced to...a hybrid cross between soccer and basketball. Not only shown by the ridiculous suspension of Lance Franklin but also by Adelaide having a record 492 disposals last week, of which 296 were handballs...thought the game used to be called FOOTball!

Anyway on to some more serious stuff...a huge thank you to Norm and also those who have stepped in to assist him throughout the season, a job well done! best of luck to those vying for the prizes.

Yes it will be difficult Peter, the only way that one of the three of us are can win is by having two more winners than Lakatoi, one different will not work. However he then has to cover the tips of three different people. That will not be possible if they are quite different.

So strategically when I do put in my tips I will be making sure that they are different, in some areas, to yours, but I agree though I think that it is just about decided, its just the 2nd and 3rd place in question.

All the best though, you have done well to come up close to first position again.

The only way I can catch up now,is to hope all the leaders fall over .
so to that end I have picked all Different teams to Clino.

So my final picks for 2009 are.

May the best Man/woman win. I just hope that 2nd & 3rd don,t live Overseas.

Thanks to all those who have thanked me in recent days. Norm deserves all the credit and I hope he (or someone else) does it all again next year.

It has been fun. And if you are wondering why I am not up there with those plotting the downfall of Lakatoi 4 - it takes me about 20 seconds to make eight quick choices and 20 minutes to forget which teams I chose.

Norm would it be in order for me to offer a 4th Prize, there seem to be four people most likely to win (unless there are lots of upsets again), I have just received a large box of SG Catalogues from Glen and can offer the sheetlets used for postage.

If acceptable I will put up the pictures, mind you I might well come fourth myself as I am going with my heart for my first pick, and this and the others for Round 22 are as follows:

I will cut straight to the chase this year, and post the winners. I will post the full ladder tomorrow, so everyone will know where they finished up.

First the minor prizes:

The first person to pick 6 winners for Round 22 was, well, me. But since it is rather pointless giving myself a prize, it will go to the next person who picked 6 winners. So, kellysboytoy please email me your address, and I will send you the small collection of Australia International Post stamps illustrated on the previous page.

Last Place Champion goes to bonfiregirl. Please email me your address. I have not dug up a prize yet, but I will find something, and will send it to you later this week.

4th Place with 122 winners for the season is annwiggy Ann, you have won your stamps back.

3rd place with 123 winners is PhillipS. Please email mrboggler with your snail mail address for your prize, which is a 16 page stockbook.

As I finished in 4th place, if the 3rd place person would prefer the stamps I was offering instead of the stockbook, I'm happy for them to have those instead, but assuming that is not so (just thought I would mention it) I'm happy to send them to Aladdin who finished on the same number as I did in 4th place.

Although I was left footed midway through the season, I would like to thank Norm for running thr tipping. As for lakytoy4, football is not just a game, it's a passion and a way of life. Two, AFL games had an attendance of over 110,000 (combined) with many more watching on TV.

Thanks for your efforts, Norm, and Kevin in support, and to all prize donors. It's been a fun way to spend ten minutes on a Friday afternoon. Perhaps next year I should spend 15. Congrats to all the winners.

It's also great to see our international friends getting into the spirit too. I believe Mark Twain once visited Melbourne and remarked that Australian Rules would be the world's sport if it hadn't been invented in such a backwater. With any luck we might make some converts!
